  • Provides basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, use of the automatic defibrillator, and assisting patients with taking their medications.

  • Coordinates with dispatch to respond on foot or other non-vehicular means to the appropriate location using the most expeditious route.

  • Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury and establishes priority for required emergency care.

  • Remains calm while working in difficult and stressful situations, and stays focused while carrying out the functions of the position.

This position will be heavily involved with special events. \n\nObjective of the Position: \nParamedics are accountable for responding to all assigned emergency and non-emergency calls in the most appropriate, efficient, and professional manner, providing the highest standards of patient care while maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment. The Paramedic contributes to overall patient care in the areas of patient assessment, treatment, packaging, and transport.
