\nThe Philanthropy Officer is responsible for inspiring, broadening and deepening the support of individual donors to Planned Parenthood California Central Cost. S/he/they executes the strategy and management of an assigned portfolio with the responsibility of maximizing unrestricted and restricted major gift funds raised annually and for longer-term efforts, such as capital, special gifts and endowment campaigns. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Establish long term goals and annual objectives for a major gift and planned giving portfolio of individuals in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy; conduct regular and ongoing portfolio analysis, communicate outcomes and challenges, suggest portfolio adjustments as needed, and project results as needed for reports and planning.
\n
\n
-Keep detailed record of interactive history for all donor contacts in Raiser’s Edge; maintain information and tracking system, which helps determine the philanthropic interests, motivations, ability to give, and readiness of donors and prospects to make donations.
\n
-Establish a strong pipeline for the Major and Mid-level Gifts portfolio by: (a) implementing an effective system for identifying, qualifying, and cultivating individuals with interest and capacity; (b) developing and implementing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for midlevel program donors who have the capacity to transition to the major gifts program; (c) working with development team members to identify appropriate prospects.

-Support all aspects of the Annual Fundraising strategies and plan; implement plan as required in designated region.

-Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy.

\nQUALIFICATIONS:
\n-Strong organizational skills
\n-Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
\n-Strong PC skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Raiser’s Edge experiences is a plus.
\n-Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, and the general public in a positive manner.

-Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional ethics, including the ability to create personal relationships and communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of stakeholders.

-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area.

\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

-BA or AA plus equivalent experience.

-Minimum of 4 years fundraising experience; including some major donor cultivation and solicitation.

-Ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure without compromising accuracy, attention to detail and courtesy to volunteers, donors and staff.

-Ability to provide feedback to staff in a constructive manner resulting in motivation for change.

JOB SUMMARY:
\nResponsible for supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations through general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, assistance with month‑end close processes, and preparation of audits. Provides support for financial reporting by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting data. Assists the Director of Finance with financial statement preparation, audit documentation, and process improvements to promote accurate reporting and compliance with organizational policies.

\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
\nAccounts Payable
\n-Move and validate data between purchasing, credit card, invoicing system, payroll and accounting systems.
\n-Onboarding vendors by collecting documentation, verifying completeness, and coordinating setup in the accounting system.
\nAccounting and Financial Reporting
\n-Prepare and maintain assigned balance sheet account reconciliations (e.g., prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, clearing accounts) with appropriate supporting documentation for review, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
\n\n
-Prepare routine journal entries, including accruals and reclassifications, in accordance with established schedules and accounting policies, subject to review and approval.
\n-Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for month-end and year-end close processes.
\n
-Identifies and documents unusual variances or discrepancies in general ledger accounts and escalate questions or exceptions for further analysis.
\n
\n
-Travels to health centers at least twice a year to perform physical inventory counts.
\n

-Support the finance department in identifying and implementing improvements that promote accurate reporting and compliance with organizational policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Strong working knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
