Working across different client projects with a wide range of technologies, a career at Full Spectrum offers both technical and professional growth opportunities.\nStaff / Senior Embedded C++ / Rust Software Engineer (Robotics)\nThe Staff / Senior Embedded C++/Rust Software Engineer (Robotics) will support high-priority autonomous robot systems at a major warehouse automation client through development, 61508 certification, and field testing phases. \nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and maintain novel robotic systems\nWork directly with the client on the architectural design of complex systems\nCollaborate on a cross-functional team to find innovative solutions to challenging problems\nDeliver solutions that balance performance and reliability\nCome up to speed rapidly on system components including networking, security, navigation, obstacle detection, motor control, and safety-related sensors\nExecute in accordance with technical direction from senior team members as well as work independently on assignments\nLeverage AI tooling to streamline development and unit testing\nDevelop diagnostics, test code, and utilities to support safety certification\nSupport documentation and field testing activities\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience\n5+ years experience with embedded systems programming in C++ and Rust\nProficiency with Linux, including device drivers, multicore systems, and real-time Linux\nHands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), particularly FreeRTOS\nExperience with low-level board bring-up, JTAG debugging, HAL code, and BSP development for custom hardware\nKnowledge of industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, SPI, and RS485\nKnowledge of microcontroller programming and hardware interfaces\nUnderstanding of memory constraints and optimization techniques\nExperience designing, developing, and testing production-level embedded software in C++ and/or Rust for safety-critical systems\nUnderstanding of real-time concepts, thread synchronization, memory management, and performance tuning on Linux\nExperience with motor control systems\nExperience with modern SDLC processes (unit testing, static analysis, CI/CD)\nFamiliarity with modern software development tools (Git, SVN, or other industry-standard source control)\nExperience using Agile techniques, including task/issue management\nDemonstrated commitment to high quality\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nHighly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented\nDESIRED EXPERIENCE:\nExperience with industrial safety standards, particularly IEC 61508, and designing software for functional safety\nBackground in Electrical Engineering, including ability to troubleshoot hardware\nExperience with networking, wireless communications (802.11/WiFi), and data security\nExperience with sensor integration (cameras, 3D TOF, or other vision systems)\nExperience working with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) to generate reliable production code and automated tests\nRobotics systems experience\nThe base salary for this position is $90,000 to $165,000 annually, and the role is bonus eligible.
